A Whirlwind Tour Through New Zealand

We jumped at the opportunity to travel to New Zealand with our son, Chase. New Zealand is beautiful, with rugged fjords, breathtaking hikes, awe-inspiring waterfalls, and serene black-sand beaches. We hiked and explored the South Island, taking a Gondola to the Ben Lomond Hiking Trail, played disc golf at Queenstown Garden, and Chase reached new heights by paragliding over the town with a bird' s-eye view! We took a day's trip along Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountains to the quaint village of Glenorchy. We drove to Hokikita and Fiordland National Park in Te Anau through the west coast. We cruised through the magnificent Milford Sound. We hiked Roy's Peak in Wanaka, took a helicopter ride to the top of the glacier in Franz Joseph, and hiked Arthur's Pass to the Devil's Punch Bowl, the highest waterfall in New Zealand. We visited Christchurch and then flew to the north island to Auckland, where we took a ferry to Devonport and danced the night away in an Irish Pub. We spent our final day hanging out at the beautiful black-sand beaches of Pina. Not only did the trip open our eyes to the magnificent beauty in our world, but it also offered tender moments of connection, laughter, and discovery together. It was a whirlwind tour filled with my favorites: adventure, wonderment, and fun!
