Keepers of the Hearth
The Keepers of the Hearth
Natasha and I recently hosted a brunch to honor International Women’s Day. Together, we raised a glass to the Keepers of the Hearth—the women who hold our world together. Often overlooked by history, these women are the steady force propelling us forward. They keep our communities resilient, working in quiet harmony to nurture, create, and support. True power is not found in domination, but in devotion. Our collective strength lies in serving to strengthen families and heal communities. We are profoundly grateful for every woman who has kept the house of our humanity standing.
The Foundation of Resilience
For generations, women have kept the world spinning with little more than stubborn love and a bottomless pot of coffee. We invest in the things that cannot be owned or monetized: healing, learning, and belonging. With equal parts grace and resilience, they have patched up scraped knees, broken systems, and entire family trees.
A Quiet, Steady Light
While the world can often feel harsh, the Keepers of the Hearth offer warmth and tenderness. They don’t require applause to do the work. Instead, they listen first, act second, and keep the soul of the country alive behind classroom doors, hospital curtains, and kitchen tables. This month, we honor the women who keep the heart of this world beating—not with weapons or wealth, but with wisdom and love. They are the foundation, the quiet force, and the steady light that leads us all home.
